Congratulations on receiving an invitation to collaborate! Before providing your partnering brand or agency with any permissions to your social accounts (either through your Connect Accounts page or through granting Ad Permissions), you might be wondering why you should authenticate your social accounts via your Creator Dashboard. The benefits of going through this process are covered below:
Benefits of Connecting your Social Accounts
-
⭐️ Show Your True Value to Brands
When you authenticate your accounts, your partnering brands and agencies receive verified performance data like reach, impressions, engagement, and video views directly from the social media platforms. This eliminates guesswork and helps you stand out from creators who don’t authenticate, since brands can clearly see your impact. It also means you’re more likely to be chosen for partnerships because brands can match you with campaigns that fit your audience and strengths.
-
🔓 Unlock Seamless Campaign Reporting
Authenticating allows your partnering brand or agency to automatically pull campaign results — including Instagram Stories — no more screenshots or manual reporting! This makes campaigns smoother and less time-consuming for you, while ensuring that the brand has everything they need.
- 🤝 Build Trust & Long-Term Relationships
Providing access shows that you’re professional, transparent, and reliable. Brands and agencies value creators who are easy to work with and deliver clean reporting—authentication makes that possible. As a bonus, the more trust you build, the more likely you’ll be invited to future campaigns and long-term collaborations.
-
💰 Expand Your Earning Potential
With performance data, brands can justify bigger budgets for creators who deliver strong results.
Required Accounts
You are only required to authenticate accounts for the social platforms listed under the Required Accounts section of the Connect Accounts page. If you have any “extra” accounts you want your partnering brand or agency to know about, you can add them under the Other Accounts section of the page. You will not need to authenticate these accounts, and have the option to simply add your handle or your profile URL.
When you add, rather than authenticate, a social account, no data will be passed along to CreatorIQ or your partnering brand or agency. In these cases, the benefits of authentication do not apply, but brands and agencies may find it valuable to understand your presence across the broader social media landscape. If you need assistance or have questions about the required platforms for authentication, please reach out to your Campaign Manager.Metrics Only Available Through Authentication

⚠️ Warning
You must have a Google Analytics ID connected to your blog to be able to successfully link your blog. If you do not have a Google Analytics ID, you can create one at https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/.
Below we'll cover how to link your blog using a Universal Analytics (UA) ID, and how to link your blog using a Google Analytics 4 ID.
What's the difference between Universal Analytics and Google Analytics 4?
Google Analytics 4 can be used on websites, apps, and/or both website and app together. Universal Analytics only supports websites.
With this in mind, Google Analytics 4 is Google's latest tracking tool and is now the default property when setting up a new ID. However, it is not yet supported by most blogging platforms. View this table to see which platforms are supported.
If your blogging platform doesn't support Google Analytics 4, here is a guide on how to set-up a new Universal Analytics ID.If you have a Universal Analytics (UA) ID:
- Navigate to https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/ and login with Google credentials.
-
At the bottom of the left hand menu bar click on the gear icon or Admin.
-
Under the accounts listed on your Analytics page, select your blog's account or property name in the dropdown menu.
- Click Tracking Info.
- In the expanded view of the Tracking Info section, select Tracking Code.
-
Under the "Tracking ID" header, copy the ID. The ID often starts with "UA-".
-
Input the UA ID into your blog's Settings page.
📍 Example: in Blogger.com, this would be: Settings → under the Basic Section, select Google Analytics Property ID.
If you have a Google Analytics 4 ID:
- Navigate to https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/ and login with Google credentials.
-
At the bottom of the left hand menu bar click on the gear icon or Admin.
-
Under the accounts listed on your Analytics page, select your blog's account or property name in the dropdown menu.
-
Select Property Settings.
-
In the expanded view of Property Settings, copy the Property ID.
-
Input the Google Analytics 4's Property ID into your blog's Settings page.
📍 Example: in Google Sites, this would be: Settings → Analytics → Google Analytics tracking or measurement ID.
📝 Note
Some websites will require you to add in 'G-' before copying and pasting the property ID. Note that omitting the 'G-' may prevent you from being able to track your page traffic successfully.

Congratulations on receiving an invitation to collaborate! Before providing your partnering brand or agency with any permissions to your social accounts (either through your Connect Accounts page or through granting Ad Permissions), you might be concerned about how your data will be used. We'll go over the ways we ensure that your security and privacy below.
Protecting your Privacy
We take the security and privacy of your Social Accounts very seriously. Here are some examples of the ways that you can feel confident that your data is protected:
-
👀 Pass along read-only data
Partnering brands and agencies will be able to see data about the Campaign content that you've created. However, this data only flows in one direction and is content specific, e.g. engagements, likes, comments, video views, etc. Partnering brands and agencies cannot send data to your account, so they cannot make any edits to or take action on your behalf unless you've specifically granted Ad Permissions. If Ad Permissions are granted, partners will only receive limited access to run dark posts (i.e. posts that show up as an Ad, but do not appear on your feed); they won't be able to see any account information or previous collaborations you have participated in.
-
✋ Limit access to content only
Partnering brands and agencies will not be able to access your Direct Messages, and will not have the ability to follow Pages or engage with content under your name.
-
🔗 Full control over the Social Accounts you link
Even if your Social Accounts are connected across channels (e.g. your Facebook Page is connected to your Instagram account), you can choose to provide access to only those profiles that you feel comfortable sharing by linking those specific accounts.
-
💔 Revoke the link to your account(s) at any time
You have full control over the Social Accounts that you want to provide access to - if you're no longer planning to create branded content on one of your Linked Accounts, if you would prefer to switch the account that you have connected for a given social channel, or if you would like to revoke Ad Permissions after your partnership has ended, simply Disconnect and re-connect your Accounts or Permissions at any time.
For further details on your rights and privacy, please visit our Privacy Policy.
